10 Ways the World has Changed since you've been in school

1. Gadgetry - cell phones/ hdtv/ dvds/ bluetooth/ everything now is about gadgets.

2. Violence in school and guards at the school door. In my day violence was when the 'bad' boys got caught smoking behind the cafeteria, and the guard was a flunkie geek kid who got to be hall monitor and told on you if you went to the bathroom without permission.

3. Computers - there were no computers in school in the 60s and 70s.. I doubt the office even had them.

4. video games. What happened to good ole creativity, making things to play with, telling stories, having kids come over and the thing to do was go out and play, not sit in front of a game.

5. PRICES of everything have gone up.

6. All my friends, including myself, got OLD!

7. terrorist - We were not afraid of someone coming to blow us up. We were the USA and thought of ourselves as indestructable.

8. Soda pop machines that dispensed glass bottles and they were a dime. Now I get a can or a plastic bottle for a buck or more.

9. sexuality on tv - you never even saw June Cleaver kiss Mr Cleaver, nor Luci and Desi.

10. Debit/credit cards.. hardly anyone writes checks anymore.

10 Movies You’re Excited to See

There are some really good movies coming out in the next few months. I can ahrly wait to see a few of them. I absolutely love everything Adam Sandler is in so 'Don't Mess With the Zohan' looks aweaome. And of course leave it up to Will Smith to carry off being a drunk superhero in Hancock! M. Night Shyamalan is such a creative man. The Village is one of my all time favorite movies. So I cannot wait to see The Happening, and it doesn't hurt at all that Mark Wahlburg stars in it.

Great theme this week!

10 on Tuesday / Superstitions

10 Superstitions, Traditions, and/or Personality Quirks

1. If a black cat crosses the road in front of me, I still "X" it out.

2. Growing up, I was not allowed fish in the house (even goldfish), because a house with live fish in it is a house with no money.

3. Also, we were not allowed to play games with dice, because that was causing the family finances to be gambled away. Bullcrap. huh?

4. I still won't walk across a grave at the cemetary.

5. I do not walk under ladders.

6. Little noises make me crazy. Like a clock ticking, water dripping, stuff like that.

7. I don't like for my food to touch each other on my plate. Weird I know, but I've always been that way.

8. I am an obsessive list maker. I have a list for almost everything.

9. I do not like paper napkins. I would rather use a cloth napkin anytime.

10. If I see a picture hanging crooked, I have to straighten it. No matter where I am.

Geez, I didn't realize how weird I was until I did this, lol. I even asked hubby to help me come up with some and he thought of about 10 more. Oh well, that's who I am I guess, a weirdo!

1. Read blogs. Work on my blogs. Browse the internet. Play internet games.

2. Scrapbook! Scrapbook! Scrapbook!

3. Read.

4. Bake..... yummy!

5. Take a bath. I am not talking about the ones you take quickly to get clean. I mean a real bath, with bath oils or bubbles, candles, music playing, quiet time, a good long soak in the tub. Ummm, I love it. This de-stresses me like nothing else can.

6. Work on one of my many unfinsihed craft projects. And I have many that are unfinished.

7. I don't talk a lot on the phone, I worked for sixteen years as a telephone operator, and talking on the phone was the last thing I wanted to do. But sometimes, I call my sister in CA and we talk for hours. Hey, thank God for cell phones. It's free after 7 pm.

8. Go for a walk. Hubby and I do this a lot when the weather is warm.

9. Clean house. OK, I am an organize freak. I like everything to be where it should be. (A touch of ACD perhaps), and I totally love to clean my closet and srawers out. I know, I'm weird.

10. Last, but not least. This used to be my favorite thing to do period- but life's circumstances and lack of money changed all that. GO SHOPPING!!!!!!!

FIND OF THE DAY!
SIMPLY TEMPTING BODY BUTTAH! This stuff is awesome. It comes in 5 scents and I love it. It's all natural ingredients, and it doesn't leave that 'greasy' feeling on your skin. You will not be sorry you tried this. My favorite is Black Raspberry Vanilla. Check it out here.

10 on Tuesday 10 Things that Were Better Way Back When

1. Everything was so much cheaper. I remember when gas went up to 33¢ a gallon and we thought that was awful. We could feed a family of 4 on $30. a week. A hundred dollars would buy me about 4 or 5 outfits.

2. Things like cars and houses, etc... were built better way back when. They were not thrown together on an assembly line.

3. You knew your neighbors and everyone helped everyone else. People are just not as friendly as they were then. Families have grown apart now, back then family, even extended family, was everything.

4. People remembered your name. Like doctors, pharmacists, tellers at the bank; that has all changed.

5. Kids played outside more. They did not live in front of the tv, video game, or computer. They made their own fun.

6. You could spank your child without going to jail. You could hug your neighbors child without being considered a pervert. You could keep your doors unlocked. There were no drugs. The 'bad' boys were the guys who smoked behind the lunchroom in high school.

7. The music was better. You could understand the words.

8. Divorce was almost a dirty word. Marriage meant forever, not "oh well, if it doesn't work, I'll just get a divorce".

9. Moms stayed home and raised their children. It didn't take both Mom and Dad working just to make ends meet.

10. There was no fast food. No drive thrus. When you went to a restaurant, it was good food. People didn't have to worry about what chemicals, colorants and preservatives were in there.

**********************

1. What was your favorite book as a kid?
I was a Nancy Drew fanatic!

2. If you were stranded on that proverbial desert island (again!), what book or books (up to 5) would you want to have with you?
SAS Survival Handbook
a Bible
Island
Cabin Fever: Sheds and Shelters, Huts and Hideaways
Everything you want to know about sea foods

3. What was the first "naughty" book you read and in what way was it naughty?
I found some XXX rated paperbacks in my mom and dad's closet when I was about twelve. They had lots of very naughty words describing sex and body parts I'd never heard before. I was fascinated.

4. If you were to publish your autobiography today, what would be the title?
Livin' Life Sandystyl- the only way I knew how

5. Would you rather look at nude pictures/pornography or read erotic fiction and why?
Read erotic fiction. I actually have written erotic fiction, and I enjoyed writing it. There is a BIG difference in nude pictures and pornography.

Bonus (as in optional):Do you know the whereabouts today of the first person with whom you had sex?
No but is name was Mike

1. If you could live in any home on a television series, what would it be?
If I were single and younger, I'd love to live with Meredith Grey and her housemates on Grey's Anatomy.

2. If you had a clone, what would you make it do so you could have free time?
My clone would clean my house, cook, and clean out the litter box!

3. Who was your best friend when you were 8? When you were 13?
At 8 my best friend was Mitzi Butler. At 13 my BFF was Vicky Ridinger.

4. If you could travel anywhere, where would it be & why?
The islands of Hawaii, because I don't want to die without having been there, and it would be such a romantic trip.

5. Would you hate loosing your sight or hearing most?
My sight. If I lost my hearing, at least I could still see the people I love. I can't imagine how hard that must be.

Bonus (as in optional): Nature or nurture?
Nature... I'm an outdoorsy sort of girl, love camping, etc..... so nature for sure.

TMI TUESDAY

1) Do you have/ever had any dating or sex superstitions? (Wear 'lucky jeans' on first date, always light a vanilla candle, etc.) If so, what are they?
I have never had any of these superstitions. Hmmm, maybe I should have had and things would be different.

2) If you were stranded on the old deserted island, and a genie appeared who could only grant you one wish -- to bring one of the following people to join you, who would it be?
- your spouse/significant other XXXXX I would have to bring hubby to the island!
- an unrequited love or some person you've had a crush on
- an old/past love
- your best friend

3) Tell us "weather or not" you're in the mood -- how does rain, snow, sleet, scorching heat, sweltering humidity etc. affect your libido.
Well, having sex while rains hits the windows or roof is a definite turn-on, but the heat things are not.

4) Are you a crying drunk, an angry drunk, a 'I'm drunk, let's screw' sort of a drinker? (And, if you do not drink -- which one of those things is the reason?)
I do not drink, well maybe a wine cooler or dacqueri while on vacation or on special occasions. My dad was a drunk, and I saw what it did to my Mom as he was a 'screw anything' kind of drunk.

5) Who turns you on the most & why:
the activist
the author
the care-giver/healer (nurse, doctor, masseuse, herbalist, chiropractor etc.)
the comedian
the educator (professor, teacher, mentor etc.)
the model
the musician.... XXX Always had a thing for musicians!
the politician
the scientist
The activist would be too busy with everything else, the author would always be in front of their manuscript, If I need a caregiver, I won't be having relations with them, Comedian might laugh at me instead of with me, I do the educating myself, The model is too caught up in himself, the politician....well, Bill Clinton, maybe.....the scientist would be a nerd. So I'll stick with the musician!

Bonus (as in optional): Looking back, what's the one thing you've done which was supposed to be erotic, but didn't quite work out?
Well, I think it's what I didn't do. Came home from work a few years ago after a very very stressful day to find hubby had cooked dinner, and all I saw was candles lit on the table. I made a mistake I can not take back. I turned the lights on and threw a typical Sandy fit! He never fights with me, just listens, but the look in his eyes is something I will never forget. I ruined what I know he thought would be a great night, and he's never done anything like that again.

Also, after watching a video once, ex and I tried ice cubes. OK, ice may be erotic to some, but to me, ice and sex should not be in the same sentence! Enough said.
