A cool contest

Paul Piotrowski at InspiredMoneyMaker.com is running A Crazy Blog Contest With a Big Twist and prizes worth well over $100. His Blog teaches people how to make money doing what you love and he’s come up with a really neat contest idea that takes cares of all the people who enter even if they don’t win this time.

There are also Knock-Knock Jokes!

Saturday's Photo Scavenger Hunt/ Candy

Since hubby quit smoking, he has to have hard candy in the house at all times. Have no idea how that helps, but he swears it does.

babysitting

I got the pleasure of babysitting Lily this afternoon for a little while. It was so much fun. I keep toys here all the time for her to play with and as you can see, she strows them all over the place.

She was mesmerized by Mickey Mouse on tv. I honestly don't think she moved a muscle for about 10 minutes.
My oldest son David and his fiance Jenny are coming from out of state tomorrow afternoon for the weekend. Getting excited!

Queen?

Have you ever thought about having....

Lap Band surgery? I was thinking of having this done before I found out about my transplant. Now my aunt is doing it. She lives in CA. She sent me to a website that she used to find her lapband doctor . Why did no one tell me about this when I was looking? It helps you find a doctor, helps with your insurance, even aftercare. They are located in Los Angeles, Cincinatti, Houston, Tampa, and near me in Chattanooga. I wish I could have it done now. What about you? Is lapband surgery right for you?

Wordless Wednesday

Someone gave me a flat of these yesterday to put in the pots on my patio, which is what I've been doing all morning. Does anyone know what they are and if they are for shade or direct sunlight? Thanks in advance.

My Dream Vacation

I've always wanted to go to Australia, so last night I just went ahead and added it to my Bucket list and started planning my trip. My friend Laura from Los Angeles goes once a year and talks about how wonderful it is. I started at this website to make all my arrangements. It is who Laura used. When in Sydney, I would stay at the Y Hyde Park. It is withing walking Distance of ChinaTown, the Opera House, and the Rocks and it's only $32 per night.
Then I would fly to Pert and stay at City Waters Perth hotel which is right on the banks of Swan River. Once again, no need to rent a car. Everything is close by. A little more expensive though at $86. a night. But this website always has bargain destinations and last minute bookings.
Then on to Melbourne where I would stay at the Kingsgate hotel. This is fun one as it is in walking distance to the Crown Casino.
My last stop is to be Brisbane. Here I would stay at the Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort. This is the beach part of my ten day trip. Surrounded by crystal clear water and white sandy beaches. It is a short cruise from Brisbane. Then I fly home.
I am so glad Laura told me about this site. You should check it out and plan your dream vacation to Australia. Of course in my notebook, mine is a lot more detailed than what I wrote here. They give awesome details about every hotel in Australia along with pictures. I mean everything, from the cheapest backpackers hotels to the 5star hotel.
So where is your dream vacation? Have you planned it out on paper or is it still in your head?

Heads or Tails

This week's theme/prompt is:

HEADS - Any Tom, Dick Or Harry
I chose the TOM I've been secretly in love with since the 80s.
Photobucket Magnum PI was my favorite show, simply because of Tom Selleck. I think he is the best looking man in tv land, and I was devastated when that Jilly woman stole him from all of us, lol.
Photobucket Now he is Jesse Stone, and still looks as good as ever. He just improves with age. Nope, he's not just any old Tom, Dick, or Harry..... he's Tom Selleck!!!

Out to lunch

Regina and Lily took me out to eat at Sweet Tomatos for lunch today since Lily was sick on Mother's Day. She's better, but still not her usually happy little self.

I had a salad, soup, and strawberry lemonade.

we need to buy...

a Dehumifier. My son found some here at a good price. I think I'm going to get this one. I love the portability. This site compares and shows you the best of whatever you are looking to purchase online. The cheapest price it gave me for the dehumidifier we want was from Amazon.

The humidity here in GA is already getting bad. This summer it will be unbearable for hubby and I, as we are used to dry desert heat. I left a loaf of bread on the counter this weekend and it had so much moisture in the bag that it started to mold. Fruit grows moldy in the summer also.

My son bought two from here last summer. He needed it to take the moisture out of his basement so he would not get mold. He liked his dehumidifier so much that he ordered another one for the house. This is a repeatedly named top brand so that is what I want. It is extremely quiet. The unit has a handle and can be carried or rolled on two small wheels (like a piece of luggage). I like the idea of the portability.

This website is really great. My DIL is looking for a tandem stroller, since she will have a newborn and a two year old in July. She found several here, and chose the cheapest one of the brand she wanted.

But back to my dehumidifier - Do you have a dehumidifier? What kind? Any tips appreciated!

Manic Monday

Manic Monday #116

1. If the statement, 'You are what you eat' was true, I would be a _______.
A huge garden full of fruits and veges. I love fruit, especially melons. And there are very few veges that I don't like.

2. If you had to have one piece of music (softly) playing in your mind for the rest of your life, what would you want it to be?
Geez, I'd honestly go crazy I think. It would have to be an Eagles song.

3. What is the most important thing in any relationship?
HONESTY and TRUST

Hubby's new passion

Hubby doesn't spend much time on the internet, mostly looking at Craigslist or checking sports scores. He has joined a new forum for sports addicts. Now he LOVES football, so he can do his nfl picks with buddies. During the season, he plays fantasy football. I, on the other hand, love baseball. So my question is, what is your hubby's internet passion and what id his favorite sport? And yours?
I think the only reason guys love football so much is the Cheerleaders!!
