Saturday Romance Challenge #1

For this week's romance challenge....

Everyone seems to be organizing their rooms, homes, papers, schedules, kids, everything for the new year. Why not organize your love life? Being married, I find it's sometimes very hard to spend quality time with my husband as life just gets in the way.
A friend of ours gave us this as a gift and swears it rekindled her love life last year, so I am going with the idea with my own twists of course. The gift was the "52 Weeks of Naughty Nights" .
Anyway, I challenge you to once a week PLAN a date night for you and your hubby, lover, boyfriend, partner, whoever your significant other may be. Just the two of you, no kids allowed. If you can't get a sitter, do the challenge after you put the kids down. Whatever the case they will from now on be called the SO=significant other. If you are single, maybe you will get some new ideas along the way.
Each week, I will post a new theme, and give ideas to help execute the theme. Most of these ideas will be free with stuff you already have at home, or cost very little. The challenge will for 7 days, so you can do it any day of the week. I think our relationships will only get better from doing this. I told my hubby, and even though he chuckled, he also stated he cannot wait to see what this weeks theme is. One week a month (the last) will be a "going out' date. The other three will be 'staying in dates'.
Since this is our first challenge and some of us may struggle with it, the theme for week #1 is.......

"THE BEGINNING"
Start planning.Think back to when you first fell in love, your first date, first night dining out, first night of passion.... build on the theme.
Dress for the occasion. You don't have to dress up but put on some makeup, shave those legs, look the way you wanted him to see you back in the beginning.
Set the music. What kind of music did you like then? Buy a cd, download an album, or just find the right radio channel with just music and no talking.
Light those candles.
Feed him. Serve up not what he likes now, but what you ate back in the beginning. Cook it or get takeout in advance, or have it delivered right before the date starts.
Flirt with him! Pay total attention to your SO. Like you did in the beginning, with no talk of the kids, the house repairs, the family, etc.... Concentrate on your SO and only your SO.
After dinner, do something you used to like to do.... watch a movie, take a bath together, play a game, sit and talk for a long time about each other, whatever you did in the beginning.
Thank him for spending the evening with you on your special planned date night. Give him a very sensuous kiss and take it from there.
You never of course have to tell us any details, but please do let us know if you participated in the challenge and give us your own ideas about your theme. This may help us add to our own ideas.
Good luck and have a great time!

Lake Trash

I found a new website called Lake Trash . We stay on the water in the spring and summer here, and I love their merchandise, plus they have an awesome forum called, of course Lake Trash Forum . It is filled with lake events, photo post, classifieds, and other specific lake activities.
They have a huge Lake Trash Photo Gallery. Check out the funny, sexy, lake trash member pictures and photo galleries here!

Lake Trash Membership
Get information on all the events nation wide and access to the photo galleries and forums! Membership does cost if you get the VIP, but they also have free membership available on that page. Hubby and I are going to sponsor a local Lake Trash community at Lake Allatoona near our home.
We really want one of these- they cost between $169 and $599, depending on what you get. We go to a lot of fairs, and camping a lot, so this will be a long term investment for us. Now if I can just figure out how to get the money I need.

Lake Trash Brings you Cruzin' Coolers!
Chexk out their site.

Saturday's Photo Scavenger Hunt "Skinny" Yes, people there was a time in my life many many moons ago that I considered myself 'skinny'. Even then, my friends told me I was fat.

4. Favorite Songs?: Home by Daughtry, Bad Day by Daniel Powter

Saturday Six - Episode 195

1. How well do you feel that you know your inner self?
I think I know my inner self very well. I just don't pay enough attention to her.

2. Take one more quiz: How does your intrapersonal intelligence rate?

Your Intrapersonal Intelligence is Average

You have a pretty good awareness of who you are, but you occasionally surprise yourself.
There's a lot about your own psychology that you can figure out.
Consider starting a journal or writing poetry. There's a much deeper side of yourself that you will discover.

3. How much do you trust your own instincts?
I don't. If I did, I would not be where I am today living the life I'm living.

4. Do you find that you are good or bad at giving people advice?
I give very good advice.... I just don't take advice well.

5. If you had to go back in time and start over, erasing a certain period of time in favor of a “do-over,” would you want to go back 20 years, 10 years, 5 years or 1 year?
5 years, before I started gaining weight and became depressed for no good reason.

6. After selecting the answer above, you were suddenly informed that the “do-over” was not mandatory, after all, would you still do it?
In a heartbeat!

Friday's Feast #175

Friday Feast

Appetizer
What is your middle name? Would you change any of your names if you could? If so, what would you like to be called?

My middle name is Kaye. I absolutely hated my name as a child, but now I like it so no, I would not change it.

Soup
If you were a fashion designer, which fabrics, colors, and styles would you probably use the most?
I would use anything that made me look better and feel better, because fashion is all about making a woman feel good about herself and what she is wearing. I tend to go with lots of fall shades, but I also love color.

Salad
What is your least favorite chore, and why?
Laundry, because it just never seems to stop. You get everything washed and put away, and the next day, it starts all over.

Main Course
What is something that really frightens you, and can you trace it back to an event in your life?
I'm really afraid of creepy crawlys. I have no idea why, and cannot pinpoint a reason, but they totally freak me out.

Dessert
Where are you sitting right now? Name 3 things you can see at this moment.
I'm in the spare bedroom/computer room. I see the building across the street, the parking lot, and the cars going down the street.

Friday Memes

Friday Five

1. Under what conditions can you have the perfect nap? Haha, at this age, lately every afternoon I have the perfect nap.

2. Under what conditions can you let most of your guard down? I very seldom ever let my guard down except with my hubby.

3. Under what conditions can you do your best writing? I like to sit on my patio and write while listening to nature early in the mornings.

4. Under what conditions would you give away everything you own? Well, I left everything I owned at one point in my life, so I'd rather like to think that will never happen to me again.

5. Under what conditions would you kiss a stranger? Hmmmmm, a kissing booth maybe? But wait, do they let 53 year old fat old ladies in a kissing booth, and just how much would we have to pay these guys to let us old ladies kiss them?
*************************
Friday Fun: Home Edition
This week it is all about your living space. Photos are welcome!

1. Do you live in a house or apartment? I lived in my own home for 25 years, but sadly now live in an apartment. Hoping to buy a house later this year.

2. What is your most used room in your house? Does it tend to follow any kind of design theme?
The most used room would be my living room. It is where we congregate and watch tv, talk, spend time together. No design theme at the moment.

3. Which room in your home would you most like to change? What would you change in it?
I would like to tally change my extra bedroom. I want to keep the spare bed for guests, but would like it to also be my dream craft room/computer room.

4. If you could add a room to your house, what would it be used for? I would add a sun room as I had one in my house, and used it almost every day.

5. Find a real estate listing online of a home that could be your dream home and share it with us. It can be anywhere in the world and totally not realistic! Well, I like this one-

3X Thursday
1. Are you content with your job? Why/why not?
I am content with my job. I work online at home activating phones for a major cell company, and I have a few online businesses that I run with my hubby.

2. Are you content with your relationship with your significant other? If you don't have one, are you on the lookout for one?
I have one, and am about 70% content. Marriage is something you have to work on every day, and some days, I find myself too busy to work on it at all, and I think I could do a lot to fix it. That is my biggest goal for this year.

3. How about your friends? Are you content with the ones you have, how they treat you, etc? How so/how not?
Well, this may sound strange, but sadly, I have no friends. Having just moved across country a few months ago, I sove right into work and haven't been very social yet. I miss my friends in AZ so much. Give me time, I'm working on it.

The Thursday Threesome ::Kidney stone and herbal remedies::

Onesome: Kidney--beans? Lima Beans? Pinto beans? Which legumes do you like to cook with?
Having grown up in the south, beans were almost a daily dinner. I like all kinds of legumes, but my favorite is white beans (great northerns). I just love the taste.

Twosome: Stones?-- Monoliths? Pebbles? Do you use any of these in decorating? Heck, we'll even count marbles in vases!
When I owned my own home and had a huge flower garden, I used lots of pebbles. Now that I'm an apartment dweller, I don't even have marbles in vases.

Threesome: and herbal remedies-- Hey, there's a good one: do you have any herbal remedies for us to try? Anything?
My grandparents would go to the doctor as a last resort after trying all their own remedies, most of which worked surprisingly. Here are a few I still use:

If you have a canker sore, drink a glass of buttermilk. It gets rid of the acid in your stomach which causes canker sores.
Give your dog a garlic pill every day ( or put 1/2 clove garlic in his food) and he will not have fleas. This works!
Wet tobacco will take the sting out of a wasp or bee sting.

Heads or Tails

Heads or Tails is back and I am so happy about it. This week is Old or New. I choose old, because I feel old this morning.

This is one of my most prized possessions. It is a sugar bowl that belonged to my great grandmother, Mollie Shook. It is the Virginia Rose pattern. It's traveled with me in all my moves, and so far not a scratch on it. I do not use it as a sugar bowl. It is in the hutch behind the glass door to be admired, but what do you think I use it for?

Happy Tuesday!

10 on TUESDAY 10 Best Moments of Last Year

1. Living through and recovering from the surgery that the doctors told my family I probably would not live through.
2. Winning the $20,000.00 from Monster.com
3. Seeing my granddaughter for the 1st time.
4. Finding out that another grandbaby is on the way.
5. Our vacation to Laughlin, NV.
6. Moving across country.
7. Seeing my oldest son whom I had talked to every week but had not seen in over seven years.
8. Our best friend Jerry coming to visit for a couple of weeks.
9. New hubby of 5 years met old hubby on Thanksgiving and they really liked each other, even went golfing the next day. I know, weird huh?
10. The best moment of last year was the 11:59 PM on December 31st... it was over.

TMI TUESDAY

1) Do you have/ever had any dating or sex superstitions? (Wear 'lucky jeans' on first date, always light a vanilla candle, etc.) If so, what are they?
I have never had any of these superstitions. Hmmm, maybe I should have had and things would be different.

2) If you were stranded on the old deserted island, and a genie appeared who could only grant you one wish -- to bring one of the following people to join you, who would it be?
- your spouse/significant other XXXXX I would have to bring hubby to the island!
- an unrequited love or some person you've had a crush on
- an old/past love
- your best friend

3) Tell us "weather or not" you're in the mood -- how does rain, snow, sleet, scorching heat, sweltering humidity etc. affect your libido.
Well, having sex while rains hits the windows or roof is a definite turn-on, but the heat things are not.

4) Are you a crying drunk, an angry drunk, a 'I'm drunk, let's screw' sort of a drinker? (And, if you do not drink -- which one of those things is the reason?)
I do not drink, well maybe a wine cooler or dacqueri while on vacation or on special occasions. My dad was a drunk, and I saw what it did to my Mom as he was a 'screw anything' kind of drunk.

5) Who turns you on the most & why:
the activist
the author
the care-giver/healer (nurse, doctor, masseuse, herbalist, chiropractor etc.)
the comedian
the educator (professor, teacher, mentor etc.)
the model
the musician.... XXX Always had a thing for musicians!
the politician
the scientist
The activist would be too busy with everything else, the author would always be in front of their manuscript, If I need a caregiver, I won't be having relations with them, Comedian might laugh at me instead of with me, I do the educating myself, The model is too caught up in himself, the politician....well, Bill Clinton, maybe.....the scientist would be a nerd. So I'll stick with the musician!

Bonus (as in optional): Looking back, what's the one thing you've done which was supposed to be erotic, but didn't quite work out?
Well, I think it's what I didn't do. Came home from work a few years ago after a very very stressful day to find hubby had cooked dinner, and all I saw was candles lit on the table. I made a mistake I can not take back. I turned the lights on and threw a typical Sandy fit! He never fights with me, just listens, but the look in his eyes is something I will never forget. I ruined what I know he thought would be a great night, and he's never done anything like that again.

Also, after watching a video once, ex and I tried ice cubes. OK, ice may be erotic to some, but to me, ice and sex should not be in the same sentence! Enough said.

Feeling Better...finally

Wow, it's been a rough week. I've been sick for what seems like weeks, but it was only 5 days. Two of those days, I never crawled out of bed, except for potty breaks. Today I feel much better though, let's hope it lasts.

Today is : National Organize Your Home Day!

So in honor of that, I am going to start doing just that. How do you organize everything? Know any good websites to visit on organizing? Tell me your organizing secrets!

I found this really neat battery keeper on Amazon for only $1.99 and I have batteries all over the house, never to be found when I need them, so I ordered two of them. It was 75% off, so I think I got a deal.

Looking for many ways to store things, so please give me ideas!

MANIC MONDAY

1. What was the last thing you regret buying?
I regret buying the living room furniture I bought. It was NOT the set I wanted, and I have wished every day since I got it that I had spent the extra money and got the one I wanted.

2. If you had a crystal ball that could tell you the truth about any one thing you wished to know about yourself, life, the future or anything else, what would you want to know?
I would like to know if this health crisis I'm in will pass, and if my finances will ever get better.

3. How do you know when you're in love?
For me, even at this old age of 53, I still get that 'giddy' feeling when I'm in love, that silly ear to ear grin that just won't go away. You just KNOW!
*********************
I've decided to join BLOG 365. It's a very fast growing site for people who blog daily. Check it out here, free to join of course! I'm trying to commit to posting every day. Since I am sick, I will post several times a day on occasion to make up for when I cannot post.
*********************
Also found a new meme for Mondays called Mana’o Monday. It is a weekly writing challenge and today is the first day. My post will be added for that meme on my stories blog later today. Let's all try to help her get a good start.

Also found another cool thing - Are you a List maker? Determined to get your life together? or Just want to have some fun?

The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.
From the 1001 Day Project site

Start a list of 101 things you want to accomplish in 1001 days from the day you start. If that sounds overwhelming, start with a list of 10 things and add to it as you go. Be sure to mark the things you accomplish with Complete or finished. I will be working on mine this week. Here a a few examples : 101 in 1001 - The ToDo list for Gary LaPointe and Can you Hear me Now?

Even if you decide not to do this, the blogs are fascinating! At least check it out.

Last but not least, can you explain to me what an Entrecard is. I hear this term a lot, but not sure what exactly it is. Thanks....... Have a great Monday!
