Manic Monday #116
1. If the statement, 'You are what you eat' was true, I would be a _______.
A huge garden full of fruits and veges. I love fruit, especially melons. And there are very few veges that I don't like.
2. If you had to have one piece of music (softly) playing in your mind for the rest of your life, what would you want it to be?
Geez, I'd honestly go crazy I think. It would have to be an Eagles song.
3. What is the most important thing in any relationship?
HONESTY and TRUST

Manic Monday / 1000
Mo over at It's a Blog Eat Blog World has chosen "1000" as the theme for Manic Monday this week.
I bought these flowers at WalMart yesterday to plant by my patio. No I did not buy 1000 flowers, but I would if I had a place for them.

Manic Monday

Mo has chosen EGGS as his Manic Monday choice this week.
While browsing the blog world last week I came across this egg, and found it facsinating. If you know how to do this please let me know. It is a brownie baked in an egg.

Hope you had a great Easter!

1. If you could have any music group or musician play at a party, who would you hire?
Daughtry.... or Aerosmith.
2. Name three things to be happy about today.
my new grandbaby coming in July
the new SheWhoDiets blog coming March 21st
the guy finally came and fixed my garbage disposal
3. How do you release frustration?
Many ways... I cry, take a long bath, take a walk, call my best friend, just depends on how frustrated I am.

WANT
Manic Monday WANT

The theme over at Mo's this week is WANT. The one thing we want most in the world is our own place on the lake, similar to this one we looked at last week. It even has it's own party deck in the water, great for cookouts. A little steep in price for us, but we want to be on the lake so bad.

The Five Senses
1. What smell reminds you of your childhood? breakfast cooking in the mornings, beauty shops (my grandma owned a beauty shop and I spent LOTS of time there)
2. Would you ever consider getting laser eye surgery?
If you pay for it, I'll have it done today! Otherwise I cannot afford it.
3. What food do you love now, that took you a long time to develop a taste for?
Chinese food. I would not even try it as a kid because it looked gross to me, but I love it now.
4. Do you have sensitive skin? Is there any material that you don't like touching your skin?
No, I do not have sensitive skin. I don't like anything itchy and scratchy next to me skin, but no one does.
5. Whose speaking voice is your favourite to listen to?
My son David. I could talk to him for hours and hours. My hubby says I light up like a Christmas tree when he calls.

Manic Monday
1) You find that your best friend has stolen money to pay for medical treatment for a seriously ill relative. What would you do?
I would do nothing, I think. That would be their business, and wow! That is a hard question to answer. But yes, I think that would be between them, God and the police to figure out.
2) What three things you regret not learning to do?
Swimming
Quilting
dancing
*********************
Curious as a Cat
1) What existing country has the most beautiful sounding name?
United States of America
2) What job do you think would be a lot of fun to try out for awhile?
I would love to be a teacher.
3) For what would you sell your soul?
There was a dark time in my life that I would have sold my soul for money, but I would not sell my soul for anything. Would you?
4) What is the best revenge you have ever taken on someone?
It took me a long long time to realize that the best revenge in the world is to be happy. People who did things to you that make you want to get revenge do not want you to be happy. They want you to be miserable. I decided not to play into that.
5) Show and Tell. What comes to mind first when you see this picture? Or, tell a story if it reminds you of one.
This photo reminds me of my own hands. Hands tell such a story about us, who we are, what we do and don't do. Every line in our hands has meaning. I wish I could read hands. I'd like to know what story mine tell.

Curious As A Cat
1) Who is the biggest hypocrite you have ever met? My ex husband
2) "I usually cry _after seeing the doctor as it is never good news anymore________."
3) Name some of your superstitions and explain why you think you believe in them.
Having grown up with the most supstitious man that ever lived and always thinking how silly his superstitions were, I am not at all superstitious. I was not allowed to have even a goldfish, because live fish in the house is a house with no money. Never dry your hands with anything other other than a white towel. See .... silly!
4) What one thing in your life would you most like to complete?
Losing down to my goal weight, which would be over 100 pounds.
5) Show and Tell. What comes to mind first when you see this picture? Or, tell a story if it reminds you of one.
The photo of Hamilton reminds me very much of the statue of the conferate soldier on the court house lawn where I grew up. I remember being in awe of this statue when I was a child. It was scary, yet fascinating to me, this man made of stone.

1. How did you celebrate your last birthday?
I was still living in Phoenix. I baked myself cupcakes and hubby and our friend Jerry took me out to dinner and the casino. I won $600 that night. It was a good birthday.
2. What's the last thing you bought yourself, just for fun?
Ok, when I have to sit here and think of the answer this long, I know it's been way too long since I bought anything at all just for fun. Since we moved to GA and have no extra money, I spend almost nothing.
3. What would the child you once were think of the adult you have become?
Sadly, she would be very disappointed. She had big dreams for me.

1. Did you watch the Oscars last night? What did you think of them?
I did watch the Oscars, although I like the red carpet best. I was totally disappointed in the winners they chose. Not one was one I would have picked.
2. Have you ever called in sick to work when you weren't really sick? What did you spend the day doing instead?
Once I did. Had to take hubby to the airport and had no time off, so I called in sick. Sometimes you just do what you have to do.
3. In school did you ever have to serve detention? What for?
NO. I was a good girl believe it or not.
4. Have you ever had food poisoning? What did you eat that caused it?
Yes. I had Red Lobster in LAs Vegas. Thought I was going to die for about two days straight. It's a miserable kind of sick.
5. Do you have any tattoos? If not, would you ever consider getting one?
I have two tattoos, both from another lifetime and wish I had not gotten them. I do love tattoos though.

This pic so reminds me of the CA freeways. If you know me or read my blog, you know I love and miss CA so much, but I do not miss sitting on the freeway for an hour or more at a time traveling at a snail's pace.

Monday's a Bitch Random Joy, Celebrity Series
1. What was the last vacation you went on?
Last year in April, hubby, me, our friends Jerry and Janette all went up to Laughlin, NV for a 3 day weekend. It was such fun!
2. Have you ever been to Chicago? no, never have.
3. What's the best example from your life of the phrase "Truth is stranger than fiction"?
The truth that I allowed a man to abuse me physically and mentally for 5 long years is so strange to anyone who knows me.
4. How often do you take Taxis? Are they useful to you, or a waste of money?
When we lived on the west coast (CA and AZ), we took taxies often. They were very convenient. I don't even think our small town in GA has a taxi service.
5. Do you prefer brown sugar or white sugar? white sugar
Bonus: What's your favorite Queen Latifah movie? Bringing Down the House with Steve Martin, but I can hardly wait to see her new one (the Secret Life of Bees) as I loved the book. She plays August Boatwright.

If you had to be named after one of the 50 states, which would it be?
My name would be California (Callie for short). Then I would be warm all year round, inside and out; and my temperament would always be like a ray of sunshine.
Where do you go for advice?
I actually don't go anywhere for advice. Most of the time, it's everyone asking me for advice. If I have a major problem, I talk about it with my hubby, but generally I take my own adviceand follow my instinct.
What is the sickest you've ever been?
Last May, I was rushed to the ER with hallucinations and a very high fever. I don't remember anything for three days. Had emergency surgery, the doc said my blood had become septic due to the infection inside my body and that I was very luck to have lived. Was in the hospital almost two weeks and came out using a walker. Scared me to death and really changed how I look at life.

2.When is the last time you saw a magic show?
In Las Vegas three years ago, saw Lance Burton. He was awesome.
3.Who is the last person you'd want to go into business with?
This is something we are actually thinking about at the time, and it is a close family member, so I won't go any further with this.
4.When is the last time you injured yourself?
Hmmmm, I broke my elbow back in the 80s, and can't remember anything since. Does breaking a nail count?
5.Where is the last place you would expect to be having dinner tomorrow night?

Which sex do you think has it easier in our culture?
I think men still have it much easier than women. This has been the case for centuries, and even though it has improved, women still don't have it as easy as men.
Have you ever wished you were the opposite sex?
Not even once. I like being a girlie girl!
What books from your childhood would you like to share with your children?
I already did this as my sons are grown. Now they are sharing books with their children. Dennis' favorite was Grover at the end of this Book, and he bought it for Lily last year. She loves it.
What is one talent or skill you don't possess but always wanted?
singing, I love to sing, just nobody loves to listen to me sing.

Feeling Better...finally
Wow, it's been a rough week. I've been sick for what seems like weeks, but it was only 5 days. Two of those days, I never crawled out of bed, except for potty breaks. Today I feel much better though, let's hope it lasts.

I found this really neat battery keeper
on Amazon for only $1.99 and I have batteries all over the house, never to be found when I need them, so I ordered two of them. It was 75% off, so I think I got a deal.
Looking for many ways to store things, so please give me ideas!

MANIC MONDAY
1. What was the last thing you regret buying?
I regret buying the living room furniture I bought. It was NOT the set I wanted, and I have wished every day since I got it that I had spent the extra money and got the one I wanted.
2. If you had a crystal ball that could tell you the truth about any one thing you wished to know about yourself, life, the future or anything else, what would you want to know?
I would like to know if this health crisis I'm in will pass, and if my finances will ever get better.
3. How do you know when you're in love?
For me, even at this old age of 53, I still get that 'giddy' feeling when I'm in love, that silly ear to ear grin that just won't go away. You just KNOW!

Also found another cool thing - Are you a List maker? Determined to get your life together? or Just want to have some fun?
The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.
From the 1001 Day Project site
Start a list of 101 things you want to accomplish in 1001 days from the day you start. If that sounds overwhelming, start with a list of 10 things and add to it as you go. Be sure to mark the things you accomplish with Complete or finished. I will be working on mine this week. Here a a few examples : 101 in 1001 - The ToDo list for Gary LaPointe and Can you Hear me Now?
Even if you decide not to do this, the blogs are fascinating! At least check it out.
************************
Last but not least, can you explain to me what an Entrecard is. I hear this term a lot, but not sure what exactly it is. Thanks....... Have a great Monday!

Having none at all... If we have none, what do we strive for or hope for.... Expect the best of everything, and it will eventually come.

3.What's your favourite rum based drink? That's easy... Pina Coladas!!

1. What's the longest you've ever waited in line? I waited for almost 4 hrs to get in the Women's Food Expo one year. It was worth every minute, and we had a blast in line.
2.It's been said that, "The best things in life are free." Do you think this is true? Spending time with our families is free and is the best thing in life..... but, it sure helps to have money. I've been on both sides of the money situation, and believe me, having none SUCKS big time.
3.Why or why not?If you could go back in time and re-live one day in your life, which day would you choose and why? Nov. 22, 2002 .... My wedding day to Robert. It was the best day of my life... or so I thought, hmmmmm.... I think too much.
