Saturday Photo Hunt / Bad Hair

Lily's hair is growing so fast, and it's at that stage where almost every day is a bad hair day!

My morning

I've had a very busy morning. Went to the grocery store, paid bills (Ugh), got gas (triple Ugh!), and went to pharmacy to get 3 prescriptions. I am now officially tired and broke.

Got home, and my neighbor calls and asks us to come over to look at something. She has two old wood rockers on her porch and they both have termites on the legs. Having experience with this as me ex had termites in the garage, I sent her to a site I remembered about getting rid of termites. It has lots of articles on how to kill termites. It shows you four ways on what kills termites and is a big help. If you ever have termites or even think you do, you should check this site out. The articles are very easy to read and understand, and it even has pictures.

Now hubs has gone to get a haircut, and I am going to rest for a bit. I will comment on Friday's Feast and Friday Fill-ins after that.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to _going out to eat with hubs____, tomorrow my plans include _not much (this is where the idle hands come in)____ and Sunday, I want to _go to church and cook____!

When you drink soda/pop/coke, do you prefer to drink it from the bottle, a can, or after pouring it into a cup?

I will not drink it from the can, weird huh? I prefer it over ice in a glass but will drink out of a bottle if necessary.

What television show are you willing to stay up late to watch?

Depends.... I usually tape shows I like and hubby hates like Top CHef, Next Food Network Star, etc... Sometimes I'll stay up and watch them after he goes to bed.

lol, I asked hubs this question, and his immediate answer was Howard Stern. I would have to say

Gene Simmons. He has built a virtual empire from his brand. Probably the smartest business person I can think of.

Would you be willing to work 4 10-hour days instead of 5 8-hour days in order to save gas?

Any day any time! I'd prefer a shift like this.

Hubby vs Bambi

Hubby and I were talking about things we could do this summer that costs hardly anything, or better yet - free. One of the things on my bucket list is to learn how to swim. Yes I am 53 and swim like a rock. Since moving to the rural south, hubby has taken up a new hobby, shooting. My son gave him a rifle and ordered them both new Rifle scopes . He took a free gun shooting class, and now wants to take a rifle scope class. Yes people, hubs wants to shoot Bambi's dad this coming winter. I am totally against hunting, but my oldest son loves it and now hubs does too.

While browsing the site for rifle scopes, I found something I want. One of the things on my bucket list is to learn more about astronomy and buy a new telescope. They have the cheapest prices I've seen on the Bushnell telescope I want, so it is now on my wish list. They ship free on this also, so maybe one day soon, I'll get to mark yet another think off my list. Have you started your bucket list yet? Why not?

I just want to sleep!

Since the doctor doubled up on my fluid pills, I started having leg cramps (charly horses), which he says is normal. Last night , all night, I had severe leg cramps. I slept about two hours before it started. This time was different because they would not go away. I finally found a comfy posistion in the living room ob the couch sitting up, and slept another hour. Been up ever since. Tried to take a nap about an hour ago and no sooner had dozed off til they started again.
I am cranky and all I want to do is SLEEP!!!!!

Getting to know me better - The letter 'J'

1. John - my son's first name, but he goes by his middle name.

2. 4th of July - my favorite part of summer. Picnic, family, watermelon, potato salad, and Fireworks!

3. Jets - they take me to see family and to great trips with my hubby.

4. Jelly Beans - I love spicy jelly beans! Yummy

5. Jack - my favorite uncle

6. Jam - I don't like jelly, but I love jam, especially homemade blackberry jam.

7. January 1st of each year - it's a new beginning every year.

8. Junk - I seem to acquire so much junk, but I like it. I love going to yard sales and swap meets to look for more junk.

9. Jokes - Nothing better than a good joke. I especially like standup comedy. (and of course Sandee over at Comedy+.

10. Jack-O-Lanterns - Halloween! Autumn... costumes, kids, candy, fun!

11. Jerry- our best friend from Phoenix!

12. J-Lo - not crazy for her music, but love every movie she's ever been in.

13. journaling - I have kept a journal for many years, still do, and feel guilty if I miss a day!

10 Ways the World has Changed since you've been in school

1. Gadgetry - cell phones/ hdtv/ dvds/ bluetooth/ everything now is about gadgets.

2. Violence in school and guards at the school door. In my day violence was when the 'bad' boys got caught smoking behind the cafeteria, and the guard was a flunkie geek kid who got to be hall monitor and told on you if you went to the bathroom without permission.

3. Computers - there were no computers in school in the 60s and 70s.. I doubt the office even had them.

4. video games. What happened to good ole creativity, making things to play with, telling stories, having kids come over and the thing to do was go out and play, not sit in front of a game.

5. PRICES of everything have gone up.

6. All my friends, including myself, got OLD!

7. terrorist - We were not afraid of someone coming to blow us up. We were the USA and thought of ourselves as indestructable.

8. Soda pop machines that dispensed glass bottles and they were a dime. Now I get a can or a plastic bottle for a buck or more.

9. sexuality on tv - you never even saw June Cleaver kiss Mr Cleaver, nor Luci and Desi.

10. Debit/credit cards.. hardly anyone writes checks anymore.
