Wordless Wednesday / What is it?

Pelicans in north Georgia?
OK, so it's not a pelican. What is it? It was the talk of the park on Sunday.

Thanks for your visit today. Love the pic of the "plump" Tinkerbell on your site - LOL!

I wish the pic was bigger/closer, but that looks like a heron to me. They are fairly common down here in Southwest Florida. Definitely, you will see them on Sanibel Island!

Hmmm, a heron or a crane maybe. I can't quite tell, but it does look like some of the blue herons we get down here.

An egret or a heron, they're in the same family. We have them here in So. Calif.

It's a lovely Great Blue Heron! We have them here at The Swamp in Valdosta, GA! Beautiful creatures!

I think it's a heron, too. More common near the ocean, but I guess they can be found near any waterway.

I think it's either a grey heron or a great blue heron. It's a heron of some type though. They are indeed very large birds. We have them at our marina. Beautiful birds they are. Have a great day Sandy. :)

It's a great blue heron.
Actually, I'm writing an article on great blue herons - can I use a close-up of your picture?
I'd give you credit.

Ita a huge pooper scooper. Thats what we call them because they leave huge poops on our boat docks and then we have to scoop it off. Actually, its a blue herron. But the alternative name is more fun!

That looks like the grey heron we get periodically on our dock. We call him Old Man River, with us being on the river and all. Simple humor:)

I thought an egret or an ibis. But I wouldn't argue with Mo! He knows! :D
